Total risk of fractures leading to clinical cases makes approximately 40% and is equivalent to the risk of cardiovascular diseases development. Fracture of the proximal section of thigh-bone is the most serious complication of osteoporosis, in 86% of cases it is associated with intensification of the risk of following fractures and accompanied by the highest rate of disablement and death. In spite of that in a number of countries including Russia osteoporosis is not entered into the list of priority or socially significant diseases. Only due to preventive measures performed within the framework of the governmental program the incidence of new fractures can be significantly diminished.</p>
Существенно снизить частоту новых переломов можно только за счет профилактических мероприятий, проводимых в рамках государственной программы.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>osteoporosis</kwd><kwd>fractures</kwd><kwd>risk factors</kwd><kwd>socio-economic significance</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>остеопороз</kwd><kwd>переломы</kwd><kwd>факторы риска</kwd><kwd>социально-экономическая значимость</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Михайлов Е.
