Sarcopenic obesity was detected by the presence of obesity with a body mass index ≥30,0 kg/m2 and sarcopenia on the scale of the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in older people, supplemented by carpal dynamometry.</p> <p><bold>RESULTS:</bold> It was found that, in comparison sarcopenic obesity with age-related cataracts, it has a more significant effect on changing activities in daily life, contributing to the formation of complete dependence on outside help (12,18 points) compared with sarcopenic obesity and glaucoma (10,18 points) (p &lt;0,001), when moderate dependence on others was found. However, regardless of the nosology of the ophthalmic disease, in both clinical groups, the leading limitations of activities in daily life were needle threading (1,84±0,03 vs 1,52±0,02 points), nail clipping (1,75±0,03 vs 1,43±0,04 points), respectively.</p> <p><bold>CONCLUSIONS:</bold> The results obtained can be used in gerontology in the implementation of measures to correct and maintain functionality in the daily life of patients with sarcopenic obesity combined with glaucoma and cataracts.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Обоснование.</bold> Наряду с увеличением численности населения пожилого и старческого возраста будет одновременно происходить повышение распространённости возраст-ассоциированной офтальмопатологии и саркопенического ожирения, которые могут потенциально способствовать снижению деятельности пациентов в повседневной жизни. При этом последняя остаётся практически неизученной, а если и анализируется, то без применения специальных шкал для пациентов с патологией органа зрения или по показателям качества жизни.</p> <p><bold>Цель.</bold> Изучение влияния саркопенического ожирения и возраст-ассоциированной офтальмопатологии на деятельность пациентов в повседневной жизни.</p> <p><bold>Материалы и методы.</bold> Обследовано 125 пациентов зрелого и пожилого возраста, страдающих саркопеническим ожирением, сочетанным с катарактой, и 138 пациентов аналогичного возраста с саркопеническим ожирением, сочетанным с глаукомой. Саркопеническое ожирение выявлялось по наличию ожирения при индексе массы тела ≥30,0 кг/м<sup>2</sup> и саркопении по шкале European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People, дополненной кистевой динамометрией.</p> <p><bold>Результаты.</bold> Установлено, что саркопеническое ожирение в сочетании с возраст-ассоциированной катарактой более существенно влияет на изменение деятельности в повседневной жизни, способствуя формированию полной зависимости от посторонней помощи (12,18 балла), по сравнению с саркопеническим ожирением и глаукомой (10,18 балла) (p &lt;0,001), при которых выявлялась умеренная зависимость от окружающих. Однако, независимо от нозологии офтальмологического заболевания, в обеих клинических группах ведущими показателями ограничения деятельности в повседневной жизни выступали проведение нитки в ушко иглы (1,84±0,03 против 1,52±0,02 балла) и стрижка ногтей (1,75±0,03 против 1,43±0,04 балла).</p> <p><bold>Заключение.</bold> Полученные результаты могут найти применение в геронтологии при реализации мероприятий по коррекции и сохранению функциональности в повседневной жизни у пациентов с саркопеническим ожирением, сочетанным с глаукомой и катарактой.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>sarcopenic obesity</kwd><kwd>the elderly</kwd><kwd>glaucoma</kwd><kwd>cataracts</kwd><kwd>activities in daily life</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>саркопеническое ожирение</kwd><kwd>пожилые</kwd><kwd>глаукома</kwd><kwd>катаракта</kwd><kwd>деятельность в повседневной жизни</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Agarkov NM, Fabrikantov OL, Lev IV, et al.
