Resumo
The Russian Federation, intensifying its policy in the countries of the Middle East, pays special attention to the situation in the Persian Gulf zone. Moscow has twice in recent years initiated consideration of the issue of creating a regional security system in this strategically important region of the world, presenting its “starting” proposals on this matter.However, the implementation of peace initiatives is greatly complicated by the ongoing conflict in Yemen. In this regard, the study of the course pursued by the United Arab Emirates in the Yemeni confrontation is of particular importance. The article contains an analysis of the UAE policy regarding the conflict in Yemen, the dynamics of interaction on this issue with Saudi Arabia and other international and regional actors. Particular attention is paid to the study of the political tools that are used by Abu Dhabi to solve the problems that the UAE has set for itself, going to a high degree of involvement in the dramatic events in this state located in close territorial proximity. The problems of the UAE’s political interaction with the United States, the issues of the implementation of the UAE’s course to strengthen its role in the subregion, the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, in determining the future development of political processes in Yemen are considered.
