Resumo

The tradition of paying close attention to the 100 days of a new administration dates back to Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose performance at the start of his presidency in 1933 created the 100-day benchmark by which his successors are measured. It is considered a symbolic milestone in the United States and is used to judge how policy will develop throughout an administration. Political scientists are always in a difficult position: they need to understand whether they feel their "umbilical cord that connects them to the spirit of the times". The key is professionalism and impartiality. Now is the time to explore how the period of campaign promises and their implementation works and how these stages are connected? What systemic mechanisms exist in American democracy that, by default, guarantee the fulfillment of promises by political actors, whose victory was based on the commitments made during the campaign? Today, a complex political landscape is emerging: the color of electoral districts is shifting – why? What aspects of this process are shaped by objective circumstances, and what merely acts as temporary triggers? Studying this phenomenon allows us to better understand the diversity and adaptive possibilities of the political system in the United States.
